Langstroth Hive Boxes
Common Hive Boxes
$65.00
Langstroth Hive Boxes are the foundation of most hive setups. Deep boxes are typically used for brood boxes but can be used for honey as well. The disadvantage to using Deep Boxes for Honey is the weight of these boxes when full. Honey Super's can be used for honey or brood. Their smaller size makes them easy to move around. If used for Brood, you will likely need to use several boxes. Shallow boxes are used to decrease the weight even further to make the boxes easier to move around.
Choose from a white or black foundation. The black foundation makes it easier to see whether the cells contain eggs. White foundation can be used to identify your frames. For instance, you may want to use white for honey but black for frames that will be exposed to might treatment.
These items are purchased in bulk from our distributor and assembled on-site. We use nails and Tribond Exterior wood glue to put the boxes together. The exterior is painted with exterior latex paint to prevent the boxes from warping or becoming damaged.
